    Great Cuts
League wise the Jets got Cromartie for a 3rd rd 2011 pick which could turn into a 2nd rd...Saints could've gave them that.
Also Jake Delhomme was released as well after receiving a contract ext last yr.
Seemed like the Jets could've just traded Jones to the Jets for Cromartie and kept their pick.

Cromartie would have been interesting. At CB, my first pick for us to draft in the 2009 Draft was Sean Smith of Utah, and we didn't (he was drafted in the 2nd round, started all 16 games for the Fins in 2009, had 39 tackles and 12 passes defended... compare to Cromartie as a 4th-year NFL player last season: 33 tackles, 10 passes defended, 3 INTs). But a lot of people argued that we took Jenkins to make him a FS.

Yeah I wanted the Saints to draft Sean Smith as well him and Vontae were both better than Jenkins.

One question is how many people would be interested in the Saints signing Lito S. to come in and compete with Gay for our 3rd CB spot because in this league you need 4 good CBs...Tracy Porter, Greer, Lito and Gay seem like would be a solid cb core.

It's entirely possible (although not likely) that Grant shops himself around the league and doesn't find the pay that he wants and signs with the Saints for less money.

I thought the same thing but he will have to take alot less...maybe after being cut he will come back playing better and slimmer...Only thing is the Draft has some good prospects that would be cheaper

Grant has had years to get it together as a Saint. He's always been out of shape and playing short of his potential. I think the chances of him resigning are slim.

It's possible but a statement by Loomis on him being cut sure made it seem like the association between the Saints and Grant is completely over.

That Saints are now down to only 2 DEs signed for 2010, Smith and McCray. McCray is a backup at best.

Saints need some help from free agency and I think Williams will be looked at hard by the Saints. Williams was released so the Saints give up nothing for him.

I think he will get signed by Loomis and Co.

The other DE will be drafted to give us our 2 deep.

Are we talking about the Jamal Williams who, according to nfl.com, is a 33-year old, 348 pound nose tackle for the Chargers? How is he an upgrade at defensive end from Grant? Or are we talking about another Jamal Williams that doesn't appear on nfl.com's list of current players?
