The only difference between this defense and a circus is the big clown shoes.

And Payton/Loomis got rid of too many of Brees' weapons without adequate replacements in the pipeline. Coleman has one disappointing drop and one inexcusable one.

Unlike last year's defense, this years is talented but young and inexperienced. I think the D will improve. The OL has been in steady decline for 3-4 years. There is no running game and Brees is running for his life. Add to that the fact that the WRs aren't nearly what they were and it's going to be a long season. Saints may be picking in the first ten next year.

    gonna be a long season

and sadly its a very easy schedule to get 11 or 12 wins

but this team has way too many issues

The defense is warm garbage. Colston drops more than he catches these days. There's only one of Brandin Cooks and he is the size of a leprechaun.

It's going to be a long season.

Cooks can't be depended on to last an entire season he is too small, CJ Spiller will help a lot even though the gump is finally earning a paycheck. With the loss of Graham though, the Saints should have tried to go get a veteran wide receiver or maybe make a push for Julius Thomas in free agency. Although Graham often was silent against the good teams, you could tell the Saints needed a target in the red zone.

Saints also had to face Tyrann Mathieu. It looks like he has fully recovered from his knee injury 2 years ago. The old HB was back making TD saving tackles, blitzing and breaking up passers. The announcers kept pointing out how amazing he was.

He looked good, Minter did too, Peterson played pretty well for having to cover that little bullet Cooks.

How can anyone on this board not root for the Cardinals with Mathieu, Peterson, and Minter starting on D?

1 that didn't play, but he has a damn good story and I wish LSU would get more credit for keeping him on scholarship after that devastating injury. Delvin Breaux.
