Yep and ATL and TB both lost too, so we're all alone in 1st place. Coupled with a 30pt Tiger bleauxout win over FU and I'd have to say this turned out to be a pretty good weekend.
Here were my thoughts on that hit when it happened (though I've seen the replay about a dozen times since, and I'm not so confident in this opinion): Had Smith sprinted into the end zone, Harper never gets close, and has no opportunity to hit him. On the other hand, if Smith had sprinted and Harper had still been in position to chase him down, and the hit comes a yard in the end zone as it did, there's probably no penalty. IMO, Smith created the situation for the late hit by loafing (dare I say, showboating?) into the end zone. Its situations like this that make college football's no taunting rule a good thing. Maybe the NFL should consider it.
Best 15g he ever spent. Although poor Malcolm Jenkins took the brunt of it. Anyone see Smith pulling him up from the ground by his facemask? Now, I know Smith was the recipient of the 'cheap shot' (for lack of a better term), but I think what he did to Jenkins was way worse. He should have been fined too.
Yep...and the little punk from Green Bay who threw a punch wasn't tossed from that game after the ref clearly saw it and threw a flag. I don't condone cheap shots but Smith was, is, and will always be a punk and I hope he gets his ass rocked again.
