Either the Saints need to hire Chavis or LSU needs Sean Payton. I can't handle two one-dimensional teams...

GW's D works with either a GREAT pass rush or some serious ball hawking players. We have neither. It was a great run in 2009. It's over. Time to get a new D coordinator. Tonight was unforgiveable.

Really poor showing. Not seeing that Vern was all the miners had, and then not doubling him. There is a good time for laying back and covering. That, to me, won't a case of poor personnel but subpar coaching. Bad week for louisiana

Gregg Williams will probally be joining his best friend in st louis (Jeff Fisher). Another thing is Gregg Williams contract is up plus he was born in missouri. I wont be begging him to stay either. The call to blitz on the long vernon davis gain (GW Drive) was completely un called for. They maybe had 1 minute left in the game. Why not rush 3 drop 8 make them throw it short come up make the tackle underneath and eat up the clock!! I like a bitzing defense but you have to know when its time to back off. Theres no point of blitzing when you not getting sacks or turnovers neither. I wouldnt mind seeing the saints hire spags or mike nolan. I feel williams is a little overrated and its time for a change in new orleans. Heres a link on the article:

Gregg Williams, Jeff Fisher Will Join Forces In St. Louis, According To Report - SB Nation St. Louis

In the last 3-4 years the saints drafted atleast 3 cornerbacks (2 first round picks) and probally atleast the same amount of LB's. They dont have a 1st round pick this year. But they have to make a splash in free agency on the defensive side of the ball.

other than Vilma, the Saints have not been able to nail down a quality linebacker since the Mora days. I remain optimistic about Martez Wilson (#95), though. He was on the field a lot in the last few weeks, and seemed like he can make some plays. But we have invested a lot in every other position on the defense in recent years, and can't seem to get the entire package together. I think I am most disappointed in Malcolm Jenkins. He was on Davis on both the sideline pattern on the second to last drive, and on the post pattern on the last drive, and got burned both times. He makes a lot of tackles, as does Roman Harper. But I think a secondary player (whether he's a corner or safey) is back there first and foremost to break up passes, and hopefully to get some interceptions along the way. Show me a safety who makes a lot of tackles, and I'll show you a safety who's tackling a lot of receivers after they've allowed a lot of catches. We got no interceptions from the safety position this year. Zero. Contrast that with 10 from Darren Sharper alone in '09, and you see the biggest difference between those two seasons.

Most of the LB's have been drafted in the later rounds.
    2011-Martez Wilson 3rd
    2011-Nate Bussey 7th
    2011-DB-Johnny Patrick 3rd

    2010-No LB--CB P Robinson 1st

    2009 only 4 picks
    Malcolm Jenkins Saf 1st (14)
    Chip Vaughn Saf 4th
    Stanley Arnoux LB 4th

    2008
    Tracy Porter CB 2nd
    No LB's

    2007
    Usama Young CB 2nd
    David Jones CB 5th
    Marvin Mitchell LB 7th

    2006
    Roman Harper SS 2nd
    Josh Lay CB 6th

    2004 Courtney Watson LB 2nd

So, we need to draft at least 2 LB's or get a good one in FA

We've got three 1st round picks on the D-line. Will Smith had a good run, but I believe his double digit sack seasons may be a thing of the past. Shaun Rodgers was a disappointment. Cameron Jordan showed some flashes late, but not nearly enough. I am starting to doubt the Saints' eye for talent on the defensive side of the ball. Malcome Jenkins looked like a difference maker in 2009 and 2010, but has taken several steps back. All the mojo our front office had in the Mora days in the front 7 is a thing of the past. I thought we had gotten significantly better on D in 2010, but since the Seattle playoff game, we have gotten significantly worse. Our D is putrid. If we don't get better, another SB probably won't happen. The Saints window of opportunity is NOW. With Brees, we can make due with UDFA and late round picks on offense. That what our history with Brees has shown. This offseason should be ALL about Defense.
