BCS is deeply flawed but I have to point out that in reality it has benefited the SEC (which we all believe is the best conference) tremendously. If the SEC champ is the best team in the country and the BCS allows that to be proven then why complain? LSU has gotten huge breaks to get in for both of the previous national championships.....and proven that they deserved the benefit of the doubt by winning both games.

If this time Alabama caught the break, well, yes it's sucks, I would have preferred to play Ok. State but if LSU has to beat Bama twice in one year.....that's not the worst break in the world. Getting left out of the championship game because of conference tie-ins is much worse...split title are much worse....it's not a good system but it's better than what used to happen and it has benefited LSU and the SEC so I don't know that we should complain.

I'm totally for the BCS formula in years when it benefits LSU....it's other years when I'm for the playoffs...who's with me here?

There need to be ,IMO, a set of formulas made by completely impartial math scholars. Maybe even from the eu. A set of computers that figure out each of the following:
    1) true strength of schedule of the two teams when they played the game
    2) final strength of schedule of the teams after the season is over
    3) average margin of victory with maximum points awarded after 21 points to limit the need for blowouts. A 21 point and 41 point win would score the same

that would be say five computers with the highest and lowest thrown out and the average of the three remaining. These formulas would be completely transparent and the numbers reviewed and confirmed by an independent accounting firm

The coaches poll will not be used at all. A coach will vote for what's best for his team and pocketbook. Coaches polls are for fun only and not in the bcs formula at all.

The ap vote would be 2/5 th the formula and the computers, with oversite, would be
    3/5th of the score.
This would rank the top four teams to play on new years day. The winners play the following Saturday for the championship
