Alabama finished #2. Resume, as determined by the Sagarin Poll Alabama................ 1-1 vs top 10, 2-1 vs top 30, 23rd SOS, loss to #1 team Oklahoma State ..... 2-0 vs top 10, 6-1 vs top 30, 6th SOS, loss to #21 team It's not like Iowa State was ranked 62nd in this poll. They were 21st. That's higher than Nebraska, Michigan State, Virginia Tech, Houston, West Virginia and Michigan. And just 1 spot behind Wisconsin.
For me, an investigation turning into scandal, would be a dream come true. I can't think of anything that would bust up this ridiculous BCS system, quicker and more effectively than a big scandal. It won't take much to destroy the BCS's facade of credibility, and then it goes up in smoke. Burn baby burn
And these are Sagarin's own numbers they use to rank the teams. When Oklahoma State beat Oklahoma, they got almost no jump in their overall score.
There's already a book about how easily the whole system could be corrupted. That kind of non-sense gets you a failing grade in freshman-level math and science courses, but it gives you influence in which teams and conferences get millions of dollars because they are invited to BCS bowls. Things aren't really any better than they were before. GEAUX TIGERS
No accountability. Unless someone has the Sagarin programmed on their computer, no one will ever know if it is accurate or not. The BCS has no way to know. And they are content with the system being this way.
