I think Chad Jones could be moved to OLB. He could blitz more and he is good against the run. Laron could have done it as well but we needed him at safety.

I think C Jones would be better suited at OLB. With his speed and sideline to sideline ability he could be a demon. Plus he woudlnt have to cover as much and could play to his skills.

I'm one of the few who prefers keeping CJ at safety. I think a player with his range and hitting ability shouldn't be so limited at the college level. A player with that much ability should be able to roam center field ala LaRon. It allows him to fly all over the field. An OLB gets one a small portion of responsibility, and is easier to run away from than an impact in-the-box safety. He's plenty fast enough to cover a third of the field in coverage too.

I'm all for moving Coleman or Clemons to OLB however. We need to infuse some speed into that unit, which we haven't had since Ali Highsmith.

chad jones apparently doesnt have the mental capacity to play safety effectively.

that was wonderful. reminded me of tepper putting thomas dunston on champ bailey.

    brilliant.

i agree with that about cj but hes not shown the ability to read simple plays nor remember his responsibilities.

it shouldnt be that difficult after this many games.

There was an article today in the Times Picayune about the defensive problems LSU has had this year. Curtis Taylor was singled out as a player who gave less than 100% and was pulled or didn't start in several games. The article suggested that the defense was in disarray, and often confused about assignments. It also portrayed some dissention and finger pointing amongst the players. The lack of discipline illustrated by the unsportmanlike penalties in the Arkansas game was also sited. I think the writer was making a good case for a change at DC.
