Yea. Greed is right. Except for the opposite. The kids deserve to be paid.

We can cry or step up.

Well, my son is off at college so I sometimes go see him on the weekends. My parents have been in poor health the last three years, so I've been going over there to take care of the upkeep on their home and their rental properties. I haven't watched MLB, NFL or NBA in so long that it never even crosses my mind. That's pretty surprising because I've always been a huge sports fan, but now it's down to college football and it may be joining the other three sports if something doesn't change.

I’m nearly out myself. Same regarding fandom. I excommunicated all those you mention. Greed, lack of respect, cheating, etc. just couldn’t take it anymore. Also…same here. Have not watched pro leagues of anything, save maybe attending a hockey game occasionally…that’s it. CFB powers that be have lost their minds. I sincerely believe this was propelled by Saban and Alabama. Now, all the things they got away with are legal and seemingly encouraged. I consider myself a capitalist, but when there are no controls at all, it can go off the rails. CFB is on the precipice of total loss of control. It will die of its own accord at some point. Again, I’m going to scream this. If an 18 year old star freshman running back is making millions due to my blocking skills, I might feel a bit slighted that I’m not sniffing that amount. How long before we see individual players go on strike. May seem far fetched. Just thinking about the current and the coming ugliness. The rule of unintended consequences will show itself very soon.

They should be paid something. However when one super players gets the bulk of the money then that ruins everything. For instance an offensive lineman blocks for a great RB yet he may get nothing for opening holes for the great back. That has to cause disention and jealousy among the whole team. This can't work in the long run. This is where there has to be limits. If everyone doesn't get the same money it's not a team. I am god with paying them but all scholarship players gets the same money. Walk ons get a small amount.

If this remains in place I am out. I proved to myself I can do without the NBA and the NFL so I can also do without CFB.

I think that is what Shane was getting too.

You can do it right or wrong. The Faggies and Texas like to go big with little thought. LSU, while obviously late, needs to figure out how to pay kids but also keep team unity. At the end of the day, Teams win, players dont.

A&M paid top dollar for a coach that didn't work and they will do the same for players. Its no different really. If anything, all the money they will waste will ensure their downfall much much quicker and paying players wont be tied to a contract.

No need for players to go to class no need for exams . No need to go to games or watch them

And not just Longhorn Texas but all the big Texas schools will do the same. I remember it wasn't the horns and faggies getting busted that caused the downfall of the old SWC. Although i have no doubt they were just as guilty. If controls or sanity don't intercede I'm sure we will have UT and A&M alums publicly bidding for players and the schools unable or unwilling to control it

"It just means more" is truer at a state level in Texas than anywhere I've been. That's why high school football is bigger in Texas than college football in most other states. That's why they produce so many good players. There is a lot of $$ here and they are willing to spend it so that their team beats the competitive asshole at work's team.

But I don't think they will get the outcome they expect. Giving that kind of money to 17 and 18 year olds without the structure and responsibility imposed by contracts, unions, and agents has to blow up.
