Saban makes a pretty good point. The NFL should let the players finish the season before distracting them with this shit. He just comes off as a whiner when he keeps making his cases at the SEC media days instead of talking about his team and the league.
So it's ok for Nick Saban to bolt for money and leave teams high and dry but it's not ok for players. Duly noted.
Try to pay better attention and stop making shit up. That ain't that I was talking about. The issue is that the NFL could wait another three weeks before forcing students to decide whether or not to declare for the draft. It's a big decision that I can certainly see to be a major distraction for the best players on a team. It affects LSU just as badly since we also send a lot of player to the NFL.
Oh cry me a river, college baseball drafts right in the middle of the post season and they deal with it. The NFL draft is months after the season is over. He has no point.
Like when Les Miles bolted Oklahoma State for more money and left the OSU players high and dry? Get real dude. Did you complain whe Saban left Michigan State for LSU? Coaches, like anybody else are going to take a better job when they can. How long would you stay at your job if another company offered you a big raise and better working conditions?
I'm not complaining, I'm calling out hypocrisy. All the talent that Les has lost to the NFL early you hear him whining and making excuses? No you don't, he takes it on the chin and moves on.
So why do they force college players to declare for the draft on December 15 instead of January 15. Let them finish their season. College baseball also has a minor league. And Maineri and other baseball coaches has complained about the MLB draft happening during tournament time.
Dude, he's not complaining about losing players to the NFL! Did you read his comments? He's talking about the NFL forcing players to decide on leaving school early before their season is over because it is a distraction to them right before important bowl and championship games
Players don't declare for the draft on December 15. That's the date they have to declare whether they want an NFL evaluation of where they might be drafted.
I actually agree with little Nicky on this one. He's still a whiny little bitch, but he makes a good point. The NFL Draft is in May. Why does the draft status report have to be December 15th? Why not wait another month? Sames goes for other sports, too.
