Coach of the year is given before the National Championship game. Only 1 team had 13 wins, but only 1 team has the crystal ball and our team has to deal with that. We are starting to sound like Boise St with arguments like that.
Coach Miles was the unanimous COY, no doubt. But, it didn't help him much in the NC game. That was my point...that the awards are not relevant anymore in the bowl games, much like the Heisman winner who often loses in the NC game. Our goal every year is to win the West, the SEC, and the NC. I'm happy that we won the SEC but it doesn't mean anything if you get embarrassed in the NC game by another SEC team. If we lost to Okie State, it wouldn't be as bad. The LSU 2011 is NOT one of the best teams in college football history, I'm sorry. Teams on that level don't get beat 21-0 in the biggest, most important game of the season. If we had won, we would be but that's just how it is. People tried to write the script before we even played the game and now we are left with a result that no one expected or wanted.
we all realize that our wounds haven't completely healed yet, right? Here we are re-hashing the NC fiasco game all over again in a slanted thread....just saying.
The cure is Mingo and Montgomery cracking McCarron's sternum. The cure is the Honey Badger ripping the ball out of Kenny Bell's hands and going the other way. The cure is the hostile Tiger Stadium crowd. The cure is playing in Death Valley at night.
Kenny Bell? Now there's a name I haven't heard in awhile. Just didn't quite fit in the same class with Rueban, Brockers, Logan, Mo, Monty, Minter, Mingo & Faulk. Add in Loston & Shep, that '09 was a great LSU class, probably the best to date.
