"In the first game against LSU we probably outplayed them. However, we kept shooting ourselves in the foot. We were inside the 25-yard-line five times, outgained them, punted twice, and scored six points. It is almost not possible. The loss was all about what we did. That is what our player's saw the next time we played... "When our players saw the pain their teammates had after losing the first game, it gave them incentive to play harder the second game. That is what you saw in the national championship game. When the other team cannot get across the 50-yard line, there is some relentless football going on" from the 2012 Coach of the Year Clinics Football Manual http://www.rollbamaroll.com/2012/6/...nst-lsu-we-probably-outplayed-them-however-we
Bulletin board material. You have to play at our place this year, Nick. Thanks for the ammo. Inside the 25-yard line 5 times and failing to score is generally called BAD FOOTBALL, chief.
I agree with this. I just don't see the Alabama Juggernaut as inpenetrable as some do. Not only was it inside the 25 line 5 times. But, the overtime fiasco was just as ugly an coaching performance as LSU's offense in the NC. However, just commenting here...21 points against a team that had literally 0 offense and left the defense on the field the entire game. There game was not bad, but it was anything but stellar football. Saban has proven to be a good coach. However, he needs to stay away from the such delusional rants.
He's not a machine! I also agree... bama are a great football team, but they are still human, and they can still bleed...
There is partial truth in what he states. However, the key to his NC game strategy was really simple as throwing the ball on 1st downs and challenging JJ to throw down field. No rocket science there and not quite sure what Saban is trying to justify by saying that they played a much better and awesome game in the NC game. We F***d up in that one and it was for blind people to see as well.
