You nailed it. And to think, we didn't cross the 50 until the 4th quarter and were still in that game until the Richardson TD, which by the way was the first TD scored by Alabama on LSU since Richardson's TD in the 2nd quarter of 2010. A TD that by the way didn't look like a TD to me, but hey whatever we still won that game. This series has been a hell of a lot closer than those fucks in red will ever admit.
2007 -- LSU won 41-34 at Bama 2008 -- Bama won 27-21 in OT at LSU 2009 -- Bama won 24-15 at Bama 2010 -- LSU won 24-21 in Baton Rouge 2011 -- LSU won 9-6 in Bama. Bama won 21-0 in the BCS NCG. 2012 -- Bama won 21-17 at our place. 2013 -- Bama won 38-17 at their place. So yes, this has been a great series between these 2 coaches.
An incredible program like Alabama will always get the best shot of the various other schools in the SEC - it's not rocket science. LSU has given quite an effort against the Tide in recent years, but don't forget - the narrow 2-point defeat in Baton Rouge in 2000 was the first time Alabama had lost there since 1969. 2 years later, Alabama throttled LSU 31-0 in Baton Rouge.
21-0 was not a true representation of the strength of either team. With any offense at all and an LSU touchdown or even a couple of field goals its 9-7 or 9-6 Bama going into the 4th quarter. With an LSU defense with just a little more rest instead of having to return to the field after every 3 and out maybe they don't allow the Trent Richardson touchdown. Final score would have been by 2 or 3 points either way. The thing is, going into that game I knew for a certainty that Miles would continue to try the option with JJ. It was the only thing that had worked even a little in November. I also knew for sure that Saban would have a plan to stop that play. With Stud at OC he didn't have a clue about how to make adjustments. I'm sure that Cam would have. But all that's neither here nor there. People can say that it should have been Okie State or Kansas State in the game but the purpose of the BCS was to get the two best teams in the title game. LSU and Bama were by far the best two teams. Nobody else in the country was even close. As much as I hated the BCS I have to admit that they got it right. I don't blame you for becoming a Bammer. What else have you got to root for in StarkVegas?
And then LSU went on to win in 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, and 2007, lost in 08 and 09, won 10, 11, and lost 12, 12, 13. And as I recall it was a Nick Saban defense that let Shaun Alexander run all over it. So what's your point?
