Nice snapshot of the two styles. Miles with family (team included as family here). Comfortable, warm environment. Flash over to Bama and Saban's rigid azz is in a suit and tie, alone in a room. Wasn't with players when announcement came. Can't understand why he'd put the banquet on BCS Sunday- or any Sunday for that matter? Sheesh.
Here's a quote I posted last week that sums it up for me... "Champions are propelled by desire, not compelled by fear." - Denis Waitley
I thought the same thing. Miles is sitting with his troops, and he wouldn't have had it any other way. Not a politician. Not a drill instructor. Not an espn @ss kisser. But a real college football coach.
FWIW, although I despise short people in general, Saban said clearly that tonight was the team's football banquet...which is why he was in a suit, and the team wasn't with him. They were at the football banquet. They probably scheduled it Nov 6th...
:hihi: A close friend of mine played under Saban and said he was not as mean as we all see on TV. I cannot imagine but he swears by it as does one other player in the NFL who I met at Definitions. I dunno. One thing they did say is that if you f'd up he'd be in your face and it didn't matter if you were a player or coach but they felt he was pretty neat to be around. I have a hard time visualizing that though. :hihi:
then why not have cameras there and saban with his team? if they can broadcast from the auditorium of the cox center, they can broadcast from a banquet hall.
