What coaches were on Saban's staff that are still at LSU? Jimbo and Searels right? BIGTIME recruiters... I worry that they may bring some of LSU's guys with them to Alabama. I also worry about Phelon Jones, who is a DB from Bama... Could he decide to stay at home to play for a DB-supercoach?

I also wonder that about Jones. I also wonder how this will affect LSU next year? Meaning, with his ties in Louisiana, I wonder if Saban will be able to steal away some of the states top talent. Also, lets be honest here. Saban is percieved as a great coach. People are still unsure when it comes to Miles. Will Saban at Bama come in to play for the states top talent? Hopefully he doesnt get to Sears and Fisher.

I am not worried about Jimbo and Searles leaving. I am worried about Jones and how effective Saban will be recruiting in Louisiana and throughout the SEC. But Miles has proven himself to be a pretty effective recruiter himself.

Nick will be no more effective than any other top out-of-state coach who recruits Louisiana, I figure. What he'll be effective at is taking the cream of the crop in Alabama. The Mobile area is only 3 hours from Louisiana and LSU has always recruited well there. Nick could change that and make it his turf.

Another top recruiter in the West Division sucks, but I don't think he'll take many blue chips out of Louisiana. Not as long as LSU remains a contender.

And let's not forget that Saban missed RP and it was Miles who changed him. :thumb:

his making Alabama a contender will make Auburn what Alabama used to be... the usual 8-4 team...

Thsi all balances out... There's only so many W's to go around.

Good point, I surely hope it plays out that way. I definitely think AU has more to be worried about than us.

What are the chances this could backfire on Nick Saban.
Meaning that he might not be successful recruiting in Louisiana because
of this whole fiasco from the start, leaving LSU, to Miami, to Bama.
The whole state of Louisiana has to feel a little ticked off if nothing else
the way these situations were handled.
Makes Nick look like someone you can't trust, believe his word.
Gets an offer and he may move in the middle of the night?

I don't think Saban will reel in the great classes at Bama that he did at LSU. In Louisiana he had a deep talent pool and no in-state competition. That was one of the major reasons he came here. He will not have that luxury at Bama. Tubberville recruits well and has a program where a recruit can "win now" (in the even years). We may lose a top blue chipper here and there, but we'll pull some as well. I don't think this will have a great effect on our in state recruiting.

It would be foolish to think he won't have success recruiting kids to Bama. Despite what Auburn fans say, kids in Bama grow up wanting to play for Bama. And he proved at LSU he can recruit nationally.

I'm sure there will be much negative recruiting against Saban about his credibility issue. However, the type of kids he'll be recruiting are those who have NFL aspirations. Saban proved he can get kids to the NFL.

He'll have an average recruiting class this year, but I wouldn't bet against him starting next recruiting class.
