Don't read too much into it. Saban is more calculating than to say something so stupid as to insinuate that we're not the best. It's just that he refuses to say anything straight-forward. We're actually just lucky that he didn't say something more like "It seems that, relative to the game of football and the positioning of the various teams relative to one another, that LSU is relatively #1, relative to the other teams that are relative to one another and the relativities that lie among them." Douchey? Yes. A slight against LSU? No.
Question, and I don't mean to hijack the thread but I don't think this deserves its own post. How many years do most of you think Saban will stay at Bama? I know most Bama fans think he is there for life. I'm not so sure. Would anyone be surprised if he left for a job like Penn State in the near future. Seems like he reaches a level of achievement and then looks for the next challenge. Plus being from that area, he likes to try and rebuild programs....etc.
