Saban Jokes About Return to BR

At yesterdays' SEC coaches meeting in Destin, Fla., Saban was prodded about his thoughts about return to BR for the LSU game this Fall. He responded "one of my ass't coaches said he wasn't going to ride on the same bus with him." Could it be that there is more truth in the ass't coach's mind that Saban realizes?:lol:

What realistically do people expect to happen to Saban? I would expect the booing, middle finger jestures, shirts with "nice" things on them etc. The biggest problem is going to be what goes on in the stands between the Bama fans and LSU fans. Because most pissed off fans that want to "give it to Saban" won't be able to get close to him. So usually the next avenue of venting is toward the fans of the team that Saban coaches. It happened at the Independence bowl and I expect it to happen in BR. I just hope that this will be discussed in operations meetings with the LSU security team and whomever else is involved with gameday events.

The potential for it to get down right nasty in the stands and in the parking lots is definitely there. I'm hope there are enough Bama fans and LSU fans that know where the line is between "good natured bantering" and behavior that usually leads to physical altercations.

 

I am sure most fans, while they will be very vociferous and animated, will also be well-behaved. But there will likely be those few on both sides who do not know how to have fun without being rude, obnoxious and a general, all-around pain-in-the-a$$.

unless the bama fans are like ou fans and so thin-skinned they cant take being tiger baited, theres nothing to complain about.:rolleye33:

seriously, i expect a few "less than sober" fans will say some snarky things to bama fans, but i dont see the madness and mayhem that buzzard predicts.

oh, and i also expect that some less than sober bama fans will have some things to say to lsu fans too. so gumps might want to be more concerned with their own kind.

 

For all his talk about he wants a good, healthy rivalry with LSU, saban sure manages to point out how bad he thinks the LSU fanbase is toward him.

What was his point in making that comment?
