I have to assume Saban thinks kids in Alabama are either Alabama or Auburn and he is not going to change their minds this late in the recruiting season. Combine that with him not having time to establish contacts with HS coaches in Alabama, and I can see why he is spending so much time in Louisiana (and I really hate it, but I don't think he will have much success this late in the game). I wonder if his assistants with contacts in other states are working those HS recruits as hard. Applewhite in Texas for example. Has anyone noticed anything on other boards or local news, sports talk or other programs?? ldskule:
In the air now. They were in Monroe until 10:15 cst. Also a trip to Mobile scheduled for tonight. http://flightaware.com/live/flight/N1UA
You people have to find this stuff out sooner and let me know. I've got connections at the airport. :hihi:
I wonder if went around town like he did in this video? That would be absolutely hilarious! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Yif8b4NnA0
Desperate? Perhaps that is how you view it, but, in reality that is far from the case. I expect, as I've voiced, some attrition on this team because some of the players aren't going to go with "the program." I know of contact being made within some of the smaller schools in state about them being open to accepting transfers from some of the players who will be kindly encouraged to "transfer and play there next season." Looking at next year? You bet. All staff's are at this point. There have already been over 20 offers extended to Jr.'s in high school. He's not making $4 mil plus a year, yet. It's 3.5 his first year...but, don't let facts get in the way. :yelwink2: As to Applewhite... Yes, he's been hitting the road very hard also. One of the latest verbals came from a QB in TX. To think he hasn't had time to establish relationships with other high school coaches...well, that is partly correct. However, with the name Saban and the name UA, getting in the door at in-state high schools is as easy as being underage and getting into some clubs on Bourbon Street. However, one of the reasons he brought Lance Thompson on staff is he's coached at Bama before. Steele, DC, has recruited our state before...as has Kirby Smart. The HS coaches in the state know who these coaches are...and their experience/talent. He's spent everyday on the road...all over the SE. Seemingly, you pay attn. to the time he's been in LA...surely, you don't believe he's limited to just that, do you? FWIW, he did visit Davis yesterday...and Davis has said it's down to LSU and Bama, but he's still commited to LSU.
I like this site. Here is the history of where the Bama jet has been the last week. I wonder what he was doing in Baton Rouge for 20 minutes last Thursday? http://flightaware.com/live/flight/N1UA/history Do you have the link for LSU's jet?
Terry, I heard\understand that TP may be moved to a medical. Any truth that E Alexander may also be moved? I didn't think that he was injured and then I heard that he was someone that might not be back. Thanks,
I certainly appears that Pro is going that direction. He still can qualify for a "hardship year," but he's scheduled to graduate over the summer so I don't see the point of doing so. From back in Dec. of '05, he's chances for full recovery have always been less than 30%. It's impossible to answer the Alexander question right now.
