Saban came and visited Eric Edwards' little brother today at Ouachita High School. Edwards will be a senior next year, and most say he looks to be better than his big brother. Anyway, and this is second hand information, Edwards told him that he wasn't interested in going to Alabama, and that he's going to LSU. "Thanks, but no thanks". The person who was there said that Saban didn't look to happy as he left. I didn't see it, stuck at work, but several people have told me that he came rolling into Ouachita with a multiple car police escort. I guess, for some reason, he doesn't feel safe up here anymore. It wouldn't surprise me to hear later tonight that he went across the river to visit Davis and Blackwell again. Don't let me run into the SOB. I promise, he'll write about it in his next damn book. Just thought you might like to know....
"West Monroe coach Don Shows said that Saban made his noon pitstop across the river to check on defensive lineman Luther Davis. Saban also enquired about cornerback Terry Carter" http://www.thenewsstar.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070123/UPDATES02/70123018
It's just a matter of time before him and I "bump" into each other. I'll be more than happy to take one for the team.
That POS thinks he is still welcome in Louisiana. Looks like he is going to try and make his living off of Louisiana talent, I've never been a fan of negative recruiting but I hope every coach out there dogs him to recruits, that steaming pile of elephant dung!!!o: o: o: o: o: o: o:
The dude is really getting desperate. According to the Bama papers, they have 14 scholeys, and they have already given out 18 (looking at non-quals, and some grey-shirts). But you are saying that he is know already looking for next year. $4 mil plus a year, free jet fuel, and a rabid demanding fan base must mean something.
I'm with you Salty, just right across the river.:thumb: I did hear that he got a rather not-so-warm welcome @ Ouachita from the students with a few choice F-bombs thrown in the mix. I think any BAMA bound kid would become rather unpopular at school.
These high school campus visits would seem to me to cause a large disruption in classtime. I'm surprised they allow this to happen.
