Well, my comment was intended to be tongue-in-cheek to begin with... a social statement, not a political one. If you wish to think there was no preplanning for the visit of a President, so be it. I could care less what blog news hits the internet, it was only my attempt at a little humor.... sorry for offending whatever offense you took.
I didn't mean to hijack this thread or make it political, but my company took alot of unnecessary crap for that and yeah, it's a little personal. The other day I walked into Hooter's with my ES&H shirt on and got yelled at for not being on the beach cleanin' sh!t up. Really dude? I work in an office. Anyway, Saban's a douche.
Maybe he has an idea to absorb the oil buy selling us a few textbooks. How much oil does a flag thrown by an SEC official absorb? Saban should have no problem getting them to throw a few our way...again.
IMHO, the POTUS visiting the area does nothing to help...in fact, it probably impedes any progress that might be happening. We damm sure don't need a former coach of Louisiana State University down there for photo ops. Maybe he hasn't heard, but the oil's in Alabama too. If there's no ulterior motive here, I'd be shocked. - That being said, if the sumbitch has an idea to pitch...I'm all for it.
well, no pictures yet. You sure they knew he was coming? The report is that after Coach Saban met with all concerned in LA, and offered his support to help clean up the oil spill (not that he's blaming anyone) he later headed to the Alabama coast and met with Gulf Shores and Orange Beach Mayors. Later that day he stopped in at Andalusia and attended the funeral of Nico Johnson's mother. No word yet on residual effects of these three events.
