Word here on the coast is ole Nick is touring the area in Grand Isle tomorrow.

What a better way to make some already pissed off people even more pissed.

It's a good gesture, but I don't see him as being welcoming

I think it's good he's going, same as when the President visited... at least they bus in workers those days for the photo ops.

Workers were not bussed in. Try not to believe everything you read on the internet.

It's a decent gesture . . . if he's not wearing a Bama shirt. I think it will be taken in the proper spirit.

Showing some empathy for people he once lived among is thoughtful as long as it isn't taking advantage of the crisis media for a Bama promotional event.

Maybe they can use his ego to plug the hole, or just stuff him in it. Who is he trying to recruit down there?

I respect the hell out of Saban as a coach, but my youth makes it hard for me to respect him as a man. It's just difficult for me to imagine him being here without an ulterior motive.

As easy as it is to see it this way, if we all remember almost all of his comments since he has left LA is that he loved living here. I think this gesture on his part is truly earnest. Although, I wouldn't be surprised if there were an ulterior motive.

    Now that's funny....

Jacksonville was never cleaner than the weekend it hosted the Super Bowl, Mayport NAS almost sparkles when a President visits. I was staying at a hotel in London when the Queen came to dedicate the park out front... that morning workers came and moved all the bench sleepers, painted the benches, laid flower pots around, and re-sodded all the grass. The place was beautiful... she came, she dedicated, she left. About an hour later, the workers showed up again and removed all the sod and flowers.

Making sure you have the right setting has always been part of the deal.

So, try not to believe there is no prep for these special events.

So what does that have to do with.....anything? So not only do you believe whatever you read, you think just because something happened in the past that is, at best, REMOTELY similar to the gulf cleanup situation that it must be the same. Again, workers were not bussed in. Not only do I know this from personal experience, but if you take a few minutes to read the details, you'll see that the accusers WERE NOT EVEN THERE. It was all hearsay that exploded and went viral on the web. It ain't the first time the media has distorted the truth, and I don't need an example for that.
