    Monday recruit's word lesson: Prevaricator

The Alabama Coach is a known prevaricator.
    Meanings:
    1. One who prevaricates.
    2. (Roman Law) A sham dealer.
    3. One who betrays or abuses a trust. Prynne.

The noun prevaricator has one meaning:
Meaning #1: a person who has lied or who lies repeatedly.

I'll give Saban one thing, he knew how to judge a player's talent and switch his position if needed.

Remember, Marcus Spears came to LSU as a TE, too (although he was a top-rated TE, unlike this guy--but you get my point.)

At 6-4, I expect Saban to use him as a rush-end after locking him up in the weight room with multiple trips to the kitchen.

It's called talent evaluation. People with an eye for talent pay no attention to the *'s behind a kid's name. No one knows how "good" a kid will be until he gets in a program, gets in the weight room and is coached/developed.

OK, but tell the truth. Does a Bama fan have any reason to think Paige was ever going to show interest in Bama other than the fact that Luther said so? The answer is no. Today, word comes out that Paige isn't considering Bama, and all of the sudden, people are saying this no star WR that NOBODY is recruiting is gonna step in where Paige would have. It's plain funny.

That's a response from someone whom just landed an unranked recruit from their "star recruiting coach" and is trying to feel better about it.

Face it, if Shula would have signed that same player, all of 'Bama nation would be in an uproar, but because Saban is your coach, all of a sudden, this recruit has "hidden talents" that no coach in the entire country noticed but Nick Saban???!

C'mon, guy! Don't even begin to feed me your load of crap about it being "talent evaluation" and about people "with an eye for talent pay no attention to the *'s...".

Paige not showing interest isn't going to shut the gates at Bryant Denny and bring a halt to the football program. You might have had a few nut job bama fans wet on themselves but the overwhelming majority won't lose much sleep over Paige "not showing interest" in Bama.

I can't speak for what "other people are saying". But to think that the reason Saban got this "WR that NOBODY is recruiting" because he is "desperate" is a pretty big assumption on your part. Especially considering that WR is not one of our need positions. The entire offensive side of the ball is the last "need" on our list. Our biggest concern is depth across the defensive line and LB.

Saban offered him a scholly for a reason. My opinion is that he sees some potential in the kid and thinks he can develop into a solid player. But considering our youth across the offensive side of the ball I doubt it was out of "desperation".

---Just watched video of this "WR that NOBODY is recruiting". "Desperation" isn't the motive.
