Wow, I was gone for most of the day and look at what I missed!
Following Alabama Football is going to be more fun than I ever imagined especially if Saban has these hick ups every now and then.

CNS needs some of Bush and Clinton's PR personnel at his disposal.
He is a walking nightmare when it comes to opening his mouth about anything other than X's and 0's.
Matter of fact, without a doubt, if I didn't know he was a football coach I would think he was a politician!

I read the article long before this thread was posted. I thought then, WOW! In my mind, I'm trying to remember that Saban is a good coach, so I have to think that he just used the wrong words to get his point across. If he had said something like, "just as the American people banned together after historical events like 9/11 and Pearl Harbor, our team must do the same thing and bounce back". I HOPE that's what he meant, anyway.

I just hope he has or gets a PR person before this happens again. The picture of him "rocking back and forth with his hands under his arms" looks like he escaped from a mental institution. If he did not mean it that way, then he's on his own....and I feel for him, cause they'll crucify him!

That's what he meant...That their team need to recover just like America did after those events...By saying that, he does imply that losing to ULM was like Pearl Harbor and 9-11...Cause if you gonna bounce back that way, then there had to be a catastrophe.

I wish we had a video of the post-UAB-loss press conference. It would be interesting to compare Saban's actions between the two.

Well the UAB loss was easier to stomach given it was early in his first year. We progressively got better after that game. Not really the case 10 weeks into the season for Bama.

That and having a school record 8 straight losses the year before (including getting b!tch slapped by Houston for Homecoming), kinda got us accustomed to losing those games.
