Aw, poor wittle thing offended by the phrase "ass hole." Seems to be a pretty common phrase among the over 21 crowd I'm familiar with. But I'm sure no one of legal age ever dares in your world.

 

I hate for peole to be PC. It's freedom of speech, which also means you have the freedom to be a dumbass. I don't think Saban intended to offend anyone, I also don't think he has any common sense. Nothing pisses me off more than for people to bite their tongue in order so as to not offend the overly sensitive. BUT when you compare the emotions of a loss to a football team, to the loss of 3,000 brothers, sisters, wives, and husbands has to be one of the more idiotic statements of the year. The guy is a tool. I don't know if anyone on this board has lost anyone in these two attacks, or has lost anyone indirectly (i.e. WWII, OIF, OEF) but if you did then you would know that the emotions you felt that day, can in no way be compared to how you felt after losing a football game. :911: or in Sabans case

It depends on what comparison is being made. Nothing in the statement equates the MAGNITUDE of the events but merely parallels a cause and effect relationship. Sometimes, bad things but happen before progress can be made. It's really just that simple. Had he claimed absolute historical equivalence (he'd have to be insane and he's not) this might be a relevant discussion. But there is a reflexive and reactionary attitude about the mention of such things to which actual thought or appreciation of nuance is rarely accorded.

 

I didn't know there was a race. Seriously, though, whatever your criteria is, my opinion after reading the other board is that it's a race I'm happy to lose. Maybe you should go back there to help organize the march on Baton Rouge to keep Miles.
