Offers yes, but I'm not too sure about visits this early in the process being ok. I'll see if I run across the rule anywhere later, don't have time right now.

I remember reading an article on Tubby a while back and they were asking him about visitation rules for head coaches and if he thought they were fair. He said all of the head coaches he new liked the rules because it makes it much easier to have a life.

 

The point that I am trying to make is why would Saban be even looking at the class of 2008 during this time period unless everything was completely locked down. No one could even email or send a letter until Sept 1 of last year, and they aren't even allowed an accidental "bump" until after June 15th. Do people recruit early, of course. I just don't understand Saban's thinking if he is out looking at 2008 right now and flying to do it. What is to gain, a visit with a coach that he could see in 2 weeks?

I could see Saban going after Lee. 1., it would really hurt LSU's depth and LSU would have little time to attempt a recovery, and 2.,Bama could upgrade its recruiting class. Upgrading one's own class is what it is all about.
