S&P downgrades U.S. credit rating

    this is a problem why?

    because you refuse to live closer to work or buy a more efficient car? or is it because you insist on consuming as much oil as possible to destroy the environment? or are you simply too poor to afford the oil you need for your lavish lifestyle?

    people that complain about the price of things are pussies. if you cant afford it, work harder, or buy less.

    Wrong, the debt ceiling has always been about paying the debts we are already responsible for. It has never been about stopping new spending. Now the world wonders if we are serious about paying our debts.

    The Tea Party is solely responsible for the intransigence of the GOP who will now permit no compromises in their positions. How long do you think a minority party will get away with this? They won't have this debt ceiling leverage on every other issue and they won't get a bit of cooperation from the democrats on anything now.

    Someday you will realize that the world doesn't revolve around your stereotypes and biases.

    I don't see how that is so hard to understand for some people. It had nothing to do with the deficit. Nothing at all. And in fact has never, EVER, been an issue. All America looks like now is a jackass who doesn't pay it's bills on time, and avoids creditors calling. All while we have a black president too, man talk about making a stereotype come true.

    is that what a AA rating means? i am not sure it means that. in fact there are are other credit rating agencies that still have the US as AAA.

    if you think there is an entity more reliable to borrow from than the US in the world, i would like to hear it.

    so not only are you wrong, you couldnt possibly be more wrong. the US is still the strongest economy on earth.

    Of course the downgrade has to do with the deficit. I don't know how cloesly you followed this story, but we didn't default on any obligations. The reason for the downgrade was because not enough was cut from future spending and our debt is going to continue to grow at an unsustainable pace.

    That being said, US Treasuries are still the only place you can park a trillion dollars and not have to worry about it.

    So just keep on keeping on huh? Let's all compromise on something that does nothing to solve the debt/deficit problems we are facing? It's high time we have legislators like tea partiers pushing to quit kicking the can down the road. The old rules don't apply anymore. If the debt ceiling is the stick they use to bash the old time pols over the head with, so be it. I know you hate having Obama revealed as the spineless, ignorant leader he is, but it's time you face the painful truth.

    I'm not denying that. He is spineless, and ignorant, but it's because he gets on his knees and blows the GOP every chance they give him.
