Different schools/coaches have different thoughts on this as you've mentioned CLM in particular. PC goes the other direction somewhat. Tells kids to take their visits if they are not sure about coming to USC but still tells them it's okay to take them after they've committed. Last year Jordan Campbell visited Louisville after his commitment, Broderick Green visited and nearly committed to PSU after commiting, and James Wilson did visit Florida after his commitment and ended up with Urban Meyer as a coach. Consequently, Donovan Warren committed to Michigan at the last minute despite never having taken a visit there. Just this weekend, Miami commit, CB Patrick Johnson flew out to USC for the RSC with his dad. By all description, he played lights out, loved the visit, and reopened his recruitment. By the time he got back, he was telling a Miami reporter he was still Cane all the way. Teenagers.....go figure.
That's how Saban put it. Miles is slightly different. He doesn't pressure kids to commit. If they still want to take visits then that's fine, but we'd prefer they don't commit to us until they are done. There are exceptions to this rule (like McCoy last year) though.
