--Johns' grandfather, Chuck Johns, played halfback for LSU in the mid-1950s. “We’ve been die-hard LSU fans all his life,” said Josh’s father, Doug Johns.

--Central coach Sid Edwards compared Johns to Jack Hunt and Jacob Hester, high-character players who helped LSU win championships. “I think when the book is written, you’ll see that Josh belongs,” Edwards said. “The only thing that separates him from some other people out there are a couple of stars on a Web site.”

Johns said his dream has always been to play for the Fightin' Tigers of LSU:

--Both Cooper and Chavis were impressed with Johns.

--Johns was a die-hard LSU fan growing up and that will mean a lot for the LSU locker room. It is nice to have 5-star guys, but sometimes that does not do much for a team that is in search for leadership. And in college football, leadership is vital. Johns appears to be the type of player that would give all of himself for the betterment of the team. In fact, Johns already has. He agreed to grayshirt if that was what it was going to take to become a Tiger. Many other recruits would have looked the other way.
