I agree that he is borderline at getting a scholly from LSU. I just think we are a bit overzealous in offering greyshirts. With our success in recruiting recently we really shouldn't have to "reach" for anyone. It isn't like we won't have great safeties available next year to pick from and we are burning a scholarship, even if it is next year. This position isn't a weak link in recruiting either as evidenced by the stars produced in the recent past,...Laron Landry, Steltz, etc.. Maybe if he was a linebacker. :wink:
We have quality but not quantity. Now that Duplessis has arrived on campus that helps with the depth. Francois is still a question mark as to whether or not he will even remain on the team in '09.
That's my guess too. Unless we snag Randle, Mingo, Montgomery and Kelly. Benton would count backwards to 2008. Then Johns is back to being a greyshirt.
