Safety prospect out of Central received an in-home visit from Josh Henson 2 nights ago and was told to be patient. Possible he could still get an offer even if we land Myles because Loston could have some grade issues. So we either get Loston, Myles, and Johns or just Loston and Johns.
How big of an issue? big enough to keep him out of this class? Im not that big on Johns, I have seen a few highlights, but not enough to say he isnt a good player.
They have several highlight clips of Johns on youtube. He's a big hitter. Maybe he can develop into another Craig Steltz.
Not enough to keep him out of this class and he will likely qualify off the bat from what I have gathered.
Dandy Don makes it sound "most likely" that we get Josh Johns Dec 10 -- With 21 commitments, Miles can only take four or five more and we all know that Miles will hold scholarships for Rueben Randle, Barkevious Mingo, Andre DeBose, William Campbell, Darren Myles and linebacker Jarvis Jones from Columbus, Georgia as long as it takes. If LSU should lose out on any of these players, and most likely they will, you can expect Miles to offer safety Josh Johns from Central of Baton Rouge, and it would not surprise me to see Miles offer Benny Logan from Red River high school in Coushatta, La.
At this point it looks like about a 50/50 chance that Johns is in this class, and I can't say I'm excited about that.
I'm sorry but CM>Josh Johns matter of fact I would rather offer Lacy and sign and place him better potential IMO. Brandon Mitchell is a better player and prospect than Johns. Not to mention I rather throw that scholie at Sentimore..list could go on.
Just a question as I sometimes get confused on trusting our coaches to make recruiting decisions & being disappointed on losing out on some highly rated players.. I always get nervous when we are close to geting a 5 star recruit at say safety & then out of the blue we take a comittment from a 2 star at the same position. In the past when I mentioned this I usually got a lot of "you gotta trust our coaches judgement on this, they know a lot more than we do" answers. I know we can't get them all but I am just wondering if this past season has slowed down some players interest in us & also has caused some of the posters on here to lose some faith in this staffs recruiting & coaching ability?? I guess you may say thats a dumb post as we are number one in recruiting as of today. We are so close to having a unbelievable recruiting season & I want everything to go perfect which I know it won't but can't help wishing.. How does LSU keep communications with recruits flowing with all the hiring new coaches rumors flying around?
Claiborne is a exception, hes a beast, not worried about him. However, I'm not impressed with this guy one bit, no offense to him. With the possibility of Armstrong/Myles, the coaching staff better wait. And I completely agree, even if we lose out on those two guys...their is much better prospects on the board we could use it towards to fill needs, namely Stewart at LB...
Yes. We are all worried and it's becoming more and more obvious that our entire coaching staff is in way over their heads. Now, relax and get some sleep. :dis:
