That is why I was wondering. It could be a motivational tool, but I never thought of Byrd as being a slacker.
I sure hope the sign is a fake. I would hate to think that the LSU coaches would ever say anything as negative as this in public about any player. Shaming is no way to motivate anyone. Also, let’s be careful about posting images like this, especially if they are unsubstantiated. They might just come back to bite us.
i'm ok with a coach doing this although not in public. (this picture probably wasn't meant to be seen by eyes outside of the locker room.) with all the scouts sniffing around seniors and coming to LSU for pro day it's a good time for a wake up call for those players (underclassman) who may be mailing it in. a half step here, a half second there may be the difference btwn 1st and 2nd rd or being drafted or not drafted. they need to know the reality that what they do in college is going to effect their paychecks one day and it starts on the practice fields and in the weight room.
no biggie. no scout will make an evaluation off of that. they will interview miles and he will say he is a great kid and that was used to motivate certain players and they responded to the challenge.
I have no knowledge of that signs existence, but I sure as hell hope its real. If they don't want their names up there, come to the workouts. If you do as your asked, no worries and when the scouts come in they will see that your name is NOT on the list. I love it.
