According to the quote from Ryan in this article Texass holds a slight lead over LSU but the race is a long way from being over. TEXASS LEADS(link)
Can someone please explain to him that quarterbacks get worse under Mack Brown rather than better. Every QB that Jimbo has coached improves.
Well....Major Applewhite improved each season and was a really good QB, too bad Mack told Phil Simms that his son would be the starter if his son commited to Texass. Applewhite got the shaft, he was a much much better college QB that Simms was.
Maybe I should have phrased it better. The Texas QB's don't become as good as they could be. Simms should have been much better. Applewhite might have taken them somewhere but was not allowed to because of the deal with Simms. Too me that was not allowing Applewhite to develop his full potential. Everyone thought Vincent Young was going to be unbelievable- haven't seen it yet.
Well Rivals also reported last week that Mark Sanchez said he would make his decision and it would be between Ohio State and Texas. Well he chose USC last week. Perrilloux will be a Tiger.
As far as running the ball, I think VY is/will be un-fricking-believable. But as long as GD calls the plays, Vince's arm will never get better....
In my opinion, Perriloux will not make a decision on LSU until he sees how Jamarcus Russell works out. If Russell earns a start this year and seems to own the position for a yew years, Perriloux will find another school. If Russell doesn't earn a start this year, Perriloux might come here and challenge him for it.
I subscribe to Rivals.com and I do not see ANYWHERE on that site about a rumor of him committing to Texas. What it does say is that he will limit his choices down to 5 VERY soon. IMO, it will be LSU, Texas, Florida, Florida State and either Michigan or Miami. If I had to guess, it would be Miami. I would also venture to guess that Miami and Florida have the least chance of getting him, with LSU, Texas and Florida State pretty much in a 3 way tie.
