If there is one thing I do feel comfortable saying is that police reports often don't give an accurate account of situations.

As far as your last paragraph, I wouldn't let that fly...do those kids attract more attention? Sure. Targeted? I won't dream of going that far. I do know some of the police make some decisions that are questionable. But, those that are throwing theories out there about "targeted and AU"...well, let's just say the define delusional.

That's all I was saying. I have a few friends that are cops. They are good guys, but some of their colleagues are high on the "power trip."

In the past they were more into protecting the Bama program. You would never here of minor flair ups in the press.

It seems to me that as one slogs through this thread, one theme (of several), is that there IS some fault in the continued 'incidents', 'we' just don't know who to blame. Those who are saying in essence, "off with his head", are looking to the common denominator. Those who want to forgive and forget are saying "there are always other factors". It gets pretty silly when you start looking to spread the blame to the police b/c some may be short-fused. I am not (but who is?) apprised of all of the facts in each case (read incident) and I doubt that CLM is either. You can only investigate these things so far and at some point you get comfortable with the versions you have heard or you don't. Some on here who like to be on the inside, write like they know all the hidden little details but they don't. They certainly may know more than some or even most but unless they were there they only know what they have been told or read. Others seem to be willing to accept what looks like the walks like, quacks like version. There are a couple of undeniables:
    • RP has been involved in each of these. (I mean it's not like he was in Bangor, Maine during the fight and was I.D.'d mistakenly).
    • He is immensely talented and has the potential to be a real force in football.
    • He IS making some very poor decisions.
    • He has been shown an extraordinary amount of patience by the coach.
Anyway it seems to this observer from afar that it just comes down to how much you people are willing to endure from someone. We all have different levels of tolerance to everything and some are done with him and some are not.
    Gotta run for now..
    Take care all [IMG]

So, based on that theory the BR police in the past were more interested in protecting the LSU program as well?

The information age has changed things, in a huge way. When Rashad Johnson was arrested a few months ago I knew about it within minutes.

i spent 8.5 years as a baton rouge city cop. ive run into alan fanaca (as a pro player), and LOTS of LSU starters, and players. i treated them 100% like everyone else. and IF anything LSU players are treated BETTER and given FAR more breaks. if anything when you finally hear of a arrest its because police are FED up with giving "breaks"

matter of fact theres 3 or 4 of the (now nfl players) lsu players that i bet remember me.
