    Devil's advocate here, but when an idiot gets a job is that supposed to make him any less of an idiot? I could be wrong, but I don't think Perriloux's ability to get a paying football gig is what's being called into question here.

    I just wish there were no reasons for people to print crap like this about the guy that's supposed to be our world-beater QB...


    (as per CFN's spring preview but of course you all knew that)

    well, I was responding to a poster who specifically cited the NFL.

    and also, I am not a sheep. So I could care less what CFN or any other magazine says.

    I don't think they picked LSU to beat Ohio State in the title game, but it happened.

    Defensive much? I didn't call you a sheep, nor did I even imply you were. Besides, your typing is much better than a hooved animal. But since you brought it up, I'm not a "sheep" either... I never read too much into what any sports journalist says or thinks. :wink: All my opinions are indeed my own.

    Pfft.. Yeah, who did?

    Anyway, I'm not saying he RP should or shouldn't be on the team. I'm just saying it would be much more impressive if his time here weren't plagued with semi-annual suspensions.

    he has done some pretty good stuff.

    There have only been 20 or so SEC Championship MVPs in history.

    Doom and gloom seekers just see what they want to see.

    granted, the suspensions are bad. no doubt. he just has done a lot of good on the field, too, that people don't acknowledge nearly enough

    they make it seem like he is a problem child who has done nothing in his career.

    I don't know, Clair. I'd say lots of folks are doubtful precisely because they acknowledge RP's potential and his performance in key instances. I'd say what you and some others are challenging is the notion that he should be held acountable. He's not a kid on an AAU team. Like it or not (and he liked it a lot when he was being recruited) he's in the big time - the microscope is on. If he screws up again mid season it won't be just himself that he takes out - he'll possibly impact a LOT of players, future recruiting, etc.

    End of the day, he has my support unless he does something that CLM decides is too much. So far, it seems he's been living on the edge.

    You mean allegedly lined up to potentially trade for him.

    PacMan Jones' AGENT says he's got teams lined up. Amazing how quickly some of those teams have gone out of their way to say, without being asked, that they are NOT interested in him - precisely because of who he is.
