    Bingo!

and it took a staffer at big red imports (the car dealership) to threaten to turn over the information to the ncaa for ou to do their own "internal investigation". bomar and quinn had also been repeatedly busted for underage drinking, so they already had their own little records. meanwhile mister "it was just a year long test drive" didnt even get a slap on the wrist. bomar and quinn were the sacrificial goats to save the program from sanctions.

    edit:

the comparison of bomar and rp is not just the qb thing. being that bomar was not booted from the team for minor arrests of underage drinking tells me that stoops would not have booted rp either.

one of the underage possession of alcohol busts was at a hornets game. another comparison. how naive do you have to be to be the qb of the sooners, at a sporting event, and not think you are gonna be noticed with alcohol in your hand??

The point is a bit overstated but accurate. Student newspaper or not and regardless of the facts, the perception is out there. I've already been getting the business about it today including a couple reps from out of state who made a point to mention it.

I dont want to see anymore stories about RP's behavior.

    unfortunately, we keep saying this.

i still do not know if all the true facts of this incident are known. there are still too many conflicting stories out there.

however, even if nothing happened other than names being called both directions and tempers flaring, something happened to cause a story. and at this point, it has gotten to be all about perception. right or wrong, defending or provoking, rp is again the cause of a negative story, and because that happens repeatedly, the perception of him to the "outside world" is that he is a thug.

once that perception is out there, it doesnt matter what the facts are. peoples minds are not gonna be changed and it is reflecting badly on the program.

What is worse RP missing class and meetings, then having some problems at a restaurant or watching the FL and SC game on CBS and hearing F*** You Tebow or You Suck Cock or how about the redo on Hey Baby. Myabe everybody bashing RP needs to put some of that energy into these other areas if they are worried about perception and being a national joke.

I like reading all the above posts on how elite programs such as Oklahoma have the same problems we do. All of that negative info about Oklahoma is greek to me, I don't know anything about Oklahoma or their problems, because I don't care.

In the led-up to the LSU vs. Ohio State game last year, I decided to do a lot of research on the Ohio State football program (a program I knew pretty much zero about), to get myself more hyped about LSU's opponent for the NC. I found an article in the freaking New York Times, probably the most read paper in the United States, trashing the Ohio State coach and trying to give Ohio State a bad reputation.

In my opinion, you people who think that most non-LSU fans care to know or worry about what goes on with LSU football are possibly reading too much into things.

Like I said, all this stuff about Bob Stoops is greek to me. Also greek to me, was the stuff about Jim Tressel I read in the in that 2007 New York Times article titled "The Two Sides of Jim Tressel," printed shortly before their NC game against Florida (see http://www.nytimes.com/2007/01/03/s...7694db49f0bad1&ei=5088&partner=rssnyt&emc=rss )

Even after reading this negative info on Oklahoma or Ohio State. I honestly don't care. I believe thats how most non-LSU fans feel about our problems with RP.

yes he was very noble to do this. in fact he did so to detract the real story which was adrian peterson had 'borrowed' a brand new lexus for over a month from the same import place. it was called a test drive for all day.

stoops is laughable as was that 'incident'. it was clear to anyone paying attention. bomar was the afterthought and the 'escape goat'.

we like to pick and choose when to believe and when not. the kona grill story happened and leslie called to apologize to the owner directly the following monday for punk perrilloux. it happened and even clair will likely admit this if you talk to him.

he and i both heard the initial report that it was simply someone calling out rp. that wasnt quite accurate. the reveille report has plenty truth to it and leslie looks quite bad for defending him once again. les is wrong here for doing so. rp should be gone.

dont let the stuff in between confuse you. The LSU boosters like OU's will try and muddy the situation but both are exactly the same. protect the golden boy at all costs and thats exactly whats going on here.

Wow should be gone? I do not know what happened at the restaurant not sure anybody knows what happened, hell the parties involved may not even be sure of what happened by now and he needs to be off the team that is just great. That’s how it is guilty until proven innocent. There are worse things going on at other programs than what RP is doing and not even making news I am not condoning his actions but it could be far worse and I am not for kicking someone off the team just in case they may do something drastic in the future. If we all lived by that rule a lot of us would be in trouble with our lives.

keep that in mind the next time miles kicks off a tight end for something far less.

then when that player cites the new 6 strikes and you're out rule, things will be clearer.

this isnt about any other school. its about LSU and the image of the program which should be setting the standard. not following.

I am in the dark, who has been kicked off for missing class or meetings? I know last year some were kicked off for bar fights, breaking jaws and I think arrested I am not sure if they were arrested or not but I do not think RP has been yet.

And like I stated in my previous post what kind of image is LSU getting when the country hears F*** Tebow on national TV? Maybe all of those students needs to start packing with RP.
