if he did that then i would know we had a smart qb that could control his emotions.

i dont think the altercation is a big deal at all. but most things that make their way to the national media aren't big deals. he needs to understand these things. its is unfair for him, but that is the situation he is in.

It takes a man to walk away from that type situation. He would have been less of a man had he taken a shot at this instigater. His teamates would have looked at it as taking one for the team ( if he walked away). If he does something stupid to get himself kicked off the team, them his teamates realize he didn't care about the program. It's a team sport and everyone has to do his part. That includes going to class and (unfortunately for Ryan) not being able to cut up like the lesser known athletes on campus.

He's gonna have people who try to pull his chain and get a reaction out of him. Either to get their own 15 minutes of fame, or just because they want the thrill of bringing down a major LSU football player. Sick, but true.

He's going to have to be extra careful and keep himself out of situations and places that can be troublesome, always have witnesses to back him up, and be ready to walk away from trouble, if he wants to play football.

Fair? no, but he brought a lot of it on himself by making some immature decsions.

    RP supposedly screws up again...."yawn".

I never told you guys about the time I got in a skirmish in Tiger Stadium. It was at last years Arkansas game. Some drunk idiot somehow acquired a ticket right behind my family. My sister-in-law got tired of his crap, and told him about it. Instead of apologizing, and calming his drunk azz down, he decided to argue with her. I let it go until he disrespected her, then I stood up and clubbed on him a little. Sheriff deputies saw what was going on, and ran up to break everything up. By the time they got up, the guy had more than a few lumps on his face. The rule is, you fight, you get arrested. I knew this, and was willing to accept the consequences. However, because I have been sitting in that same seat since 1986, and every cop up there recognizes me as a regular, they arrested the lumped up guy, and never really questioned me about what happened. Why.....because I was not known as a trouble maker. They had no reason to question my character because I have never given them a reason to do so. I got the benefit of the doubt.

RP, on the other hand, has shown time and time again that he does not deserve the benefit of the doubt. Has he ever done anything seriously wrong? No, but he's constantly doing "something". The kid is ruined goods. He won't be able to keep from screwing up, because everyone expects him to do so. I hope he stays on the team...has the best damn year possible...shows that his decision making skills on the field are much better than off the field.....wins us a championship....and then declares for the draft. See ya...Later.....Thanks....Get out. This would give Lee another year to improve, and put us in the best position to win games.

Geez, people are freaking out over nothing . . . again. Talk-radio DJ's and bloggers have about zero credibility and seem to print anything they hear without checking the facts just to be the one who made the "scoop" if it turns out to be true. If it doesn't, they slink away.

When The Advocate or the Picayune reports it, then I'll buy it. Here is what the morning paper reports:

Linebacker Shomari Clemons was issued a misdemeanor summons for pushing a police officer at a downtown bar on Sunday and is being suspended the paper also reported.
