RP did a good job. He looked nervous and the initial play calling was quite conservative. I think Miles and Flynn went a little overboard trying to calm him down on the sideline. When they opened it up some in the 2nd quarter, RP was firing bullets. I think he'll need to develop a little touch on those passes (much like Jamarcus had to). But, if the dude stays out of trouble, I'm very happy with our QB future. I wonder if Lafell will be able to catch those darts.

And by the way. Byrd should be our number one receiver.

Perrilloux looked very good. It would be great if the coaches could have more faith in him and let the offense open up a bit, because I think he'll be a big play QB for LSU next year.

I love the fact that he played through nagging injury (hand/leg) and kept his poise.

I wish like hell the offense could speed up play calling - enough to drive a man to drink. Admittedly, for most of us that's a very short drive.

Have you noticed that Matt Flynn is the man. Total Team player. He pushed JaMarcus and made him better, all the time patting him on the back. I think he has really helped RP mature. Matt has been hurt off and on all -season. With the offense RP looked great at times this week. The offense scored 14 points and won. The week before the offense scored 48 and got beat. The defense came to play and that was the difference this week's game. Geaux Tigers. RP will be a good quarterback to look forward to next year. Matt has been a great supporter of LSU for 5 years, lets not diss on him for giving everything he has for the tigers. :geaux:

What has Flynn got to do with this thread? I made this thread after the SECCG as a recognition of Ryan Perrilloux's performance. What, do I have to say congratulations Flynn for warming the bench and viewing the game from the sidelines? Cant a player get some recognition for something he deserves? Flynn is our guy, he got us here, and he'll hopefully end it on a good note by winning us the trophy. But this is a Ryan Perrilloux thread that has nothing to do with Flynn, Im not calling for Perrilloux to be the starter or anything. Im just saying the guy's a beast and will be an elite player for the next 2 years.

I saw some clips on ESPN that were post game videos. They were showing Miles shaking players hands and hugging a few, but then Ryan walked up and shook hands with Les.

Then RP and Les hugged, while RP took his SEC championship hat off and buried his head in Miles' shoulder. I think RP was full of emotion and I believe Miles has really tried to be a positive influence to RP. He has shown him some tough love and benched him after the Varsity incident and RP was in the dog house all summer. Hopefully RP has turned the corner and Les has had an impact on him. Les is a much more personal coach and I think looks forward to being a positive influence on these guys.

Well done coach and well done RP.

indeed he did - the same half that he ran like a chinese fire drill and lost yards. KW is beast unless he has to find the hole first. if the hole is clearly identified, he makes wizard magic happen. if he has to hunt the hole - it's more like fairy magic. talented yes, but field awareness needs some work. imho.

i think that was an important test. could RP get out there and do what they asked him to do? he did, and he did it well. his time in the doghouse has hopefully had an impact on him. if he dedicates himself to football, he will be amazing for us over the next two years.

i don't think JH should have been MVP, but i do think he deserves a HUGE pat on the back and our thanks. his role in that game and the entire rest of the season was crucial to our success. perhaps a JH run in 3OT vs arky could have taken us to 4OT? nevermind...bygones...what's done is done. JH maybe not MVP but definitely a bonafide TIGER!

i would love to see a good mix of the two. i think it could make us very dominant on offense.

this is true. MF got this team to where it was before last saturday. he has earned some respect from us fans.

i do believe that CLM greatly values his role with the guys. RP respects him and loves him. maybe that's enough for him to straighten out and be the star that he has the potential to be.

Talent alone doesnt make you great, this kid has to learn and he is learning and growing up. He played very well and I was in love with the kid for that game. His arm is amazing and when he learns how to read a defense a lil better, you will see he will the best in the SEC, even better than Tebow imo!
Flynn really helped this kid the entire game, hats off to Flynn for being supportive of him. Flynn really is a gentleman and a hell of a player. The defense showed up and showed up big great game planning. I really like RP and I am excited about his future, I just hope he works out all summer and concentrates on getting better. Stay out of trouble in the long run those seconds of fun can cost a life time of failure.:geaux:
