Berkman and Pujols have launched some balls at the Juice Box. Berkman hit one as a righty that seemed to be elevating when it hit the glass above LF. That was surprising, since his big power seems to be as a lefty. Another in-person sighting was a Griffey Jr. blast at the old Tiger Stadium. Holy hell. The sound of the collision between bat and ball, coupled with the non-movement of the outfielder was unbelievable. There was a Yankee that hit one over 500 feet about 10 years ago, and I can't remember who it was. Damnit.
Oh, and y'all are right about the Howard and Thome relationship. It's terribly frustrating as a fan to see the best years of some young talent go to waste while sitting behind some old bastards. Of course, some of the onus is on the young guy to have more than one position that he can play.
