Right, and if you watched the whole segment with Clark, he backed off a little towards the end, acknowledging that he thought TR would dominate when he came out of 'Bama. But he says when he told Coach Tomlin that, Tomlin said he hoped Cleveland would take him, because he knew he wouldn't make it in the NFL, and that the 'Bama line made him look much better than he was.
You just don't draft running backs in the first round in today's NFL unless it's an Adrian Peterson, and I haven't seen one since Peterson. Maybe Fournette will be that guy, who knows, but there were quite a few of us who laughed at Loomis and Peyton taking Ingram in the 1st and Cleveland taking Richardson in the 1st. It's just flat out stupid in today's NFL.
You would think this to be the case and the same with QB's but it just keeps happening. There just seems to be so much more value out there but the GM's just keep pulling the trigger.
this... they even traded up into this slot to get this scrub iirc... we needed secondary help really bad and we trade up to get a back, THIS back...
The demands of an NFL RB are so much greater than college. The much longer season, holes that close quicker than you can identify them, the pass protection, NFL LBs that are on a whole nother level than college LBs, etc. Most of Richardson's college carries were probably already having a head of steam and beyond the line of scrimmage before anyone touched him. Vision in the NFL is much more important with the tiny holes. Blue had a huge game last year (want to say 30 carries for 150 yds or so) when he got a start late in the season. His ypc were low (on the season) and he needs to show something in the first few games this season to get another chance at being a starter. By all accounts, his coaches and teammates love him and say he does all of the little things. Now, it's just a matter of doing the big things.
But there are so damn many of them it's ridiculous. I blasted the Saints earlier and I'm gonna do it again simply because they were the ones who proved you can just take a bunch of udfa's and be successful. I'm not saying go that route, but it can be done. I would never draft a RB earlier than the 3rd unless the guy was a given.
There is no limit to your stupidity is there. Where did I say anything about a super bowl? In your fruitless attempts to insult people you continue to make yourself dumber with each post. Just when I thought the bar couldn't be lowered, by George, you do it again. Congrats.
