You folks must have missed the news several years ago – Miles left LSU for Michigan, done deal, no question, take it to the bank. ESPN said so and when they report it, it's got to be fact!!!
Who is this imposter representing LSU at the SEC Media Days anyway?

    Go figure.

it is going to be awful. every single time an LSU player makes a big play, both the ABC announcers are going to start guessing how many thousands of $$$ we paid him to come to LSU, and then they are going to laugh at us. they are also going to put up a poll, where viewers can text in their votes to vote on who has the dirtier program between LSU and Oregon. the whole stadium is going to be full of thousands huge signs and banners saying "CRIMINALS" and "YOU'RE GOING TO HELL" etc. outside the stadium, there are going to be thousands of angry protesters holding signs like "GOD HATES LSU" and "LSU HATES AMERICA," etc. it's going to get ugly

what's unfair about it is that Alabama didn't even get it that bad during their undefeated season and Heisman ceremony in 2009, even though they had just been hit with the longest period of sanctions of any team in the NCAA for their textbook scandal... and Auburn didn't even get it that bad during their undefeated season and Heisman ceremony in 2010, even though they were in the midst of Camgate... and UConn didn't even get it that bad during their 2010-2011 Championship season, even though they were under major investigation the whole time and, just one month before the championship game, they had been hit with 3 years of scholarship reductions, 3 years of probation, their coach was suspended, etc

it going to be awful. i mean really awful, like 1,000,000,000 times worse than when Tonya Harding was allowed to compete against Nancy Kerrigan for the Gold in the 1994 Olympics

a similar situation and how it played out:

2006 offseason (mid-June): USC WR Dwayne Jarrett (who had just had an All-American season helping USC to a 12-1 record) was found to be only paying $650/month when his rent was $1,933/month, in violation of NCAA extra benefit rules. USC declared him ineligible and applied to the NCAA for his reinstatement. when Sports Illustrated asked the NCAA about it, they were told:
the NCAA reinstated Jarrett on August 9, 2006, about a month before USC's first game on Sept 3. Jarrett ended up having another All-American season, helping USC to a 11-2 record (USC didn't have any wins vacated for the 2006 season for the Bush fiasco, just 2005 and the last two games of 2004)

So let me get this straight, you can live rent free with a girlfriend as long as she isn't employed by the school or was that just a pot shot to make it sound alot worse than it is?

You can't take a rent stipend when a third party is paying the rent. I see no significance in where a student worker has her job.

no. if a player's rent is $1,000/month, the player has to pay $1,000/month in rent. his girlfriend can't pay it for him. it's just like with the USC WR Jarrett, his rent was $1,933/month, but he was only playing $650/month (a teammate's dad was paying the rest). that made him ineligible because he was in violation of NCAA extra benefit rules
