As usual, you don't burden your posts with facts. I'm having a great day....you, not so much. Several people are saying the same thing I am about Russell Shepard. Perhaps you do selective reading to avoid the majority opinion, huh?
Miles was right on with Claiborne as his only other offers were Nebraska, A&M, Louisiana Tech, Arkansas State, and Toolame. I wouldn't say that a high 3* guy is a squandered scholarship So far, LSU has 7 3* guys committed in this class. But yeah, it was pretty obvious from his video that he had 0 QB skills (which is why LSU was the only school to even say he could try to play QB) and I saw nothing extraordinary about RS but his speed...not any great cutback ability, toughness, strength, football knowledge, etc. I believe the best phrase to describe Russell Shepard is "one trick pony."
Now wait a minute....if YOU were coach, you could basically say in the pregame meeting...."OK guys, every play goes to Russell Shepard...handoffs....screen passes....hell, we are even going to take Brad Wing out of punt formation and just let our boy Russell just fake every punt. Russell son, can you place kick too for us?" Think about it....you as head coach and Russell Shepard touches the ball 80 times a football game.
We'd constantly have delay of game penalties because Milesthebest coach would be still nagging the assistant coaches and OC about how the previous play he called was the correct call to make even after it failed. We'd have to use all our timeouts in the first two minutes.
