Hey guys I live about ten minutes from Cy Ridge and a friend of mine is close to Shep's family and invited me down for the signing party. I got to talk to him for 15-20 mins. Thought I'd list some things we discussed on here for you guys: He still feels Debose is all LSU, he actually volunteered this information so he clearly feels strongly about it. He agreed with my statement that Debose was not going to stand in an all Florida crowd and choose LSU at the UA game. He said he talked to Lafell and that he will return next year. (He also felt Lafell was most comparable to his skillset) He clearly gets the impression Miles is or was not a big Jordan Jefferson fan. (Probably a combination of wishful thinking or recruiting talk from LSU but could explain why he stuck with Lee for so long) As others have said he is an excited 18 y/o kid so everything he says isn't gold, but this is another source agreeing with Dandy Don about Debose. He comes across very confidently and I am officially a fan. :thumb:
Signs what? http://www.ncaa.org/wps/portal/!ut/...L_CONTEXT=/wps/wcm/connect/NLI/Signing+Dates/ Party maybe, signed letter I don't think so.
Enrollment/Aid papers. He is an early enrollee and start classes next week. Signing enrollment papers is equivalent to signing your LOI papers in recruiting matters.
I don't know why Miles would not be a fan of JJ, he just won him a bowl game as a true freshman and looked damn good doing it.
He probably just gave RS that impression to lure him in. After the way that JJ made everyone forget about LSU's woeful regular season, Miles should be his #1 fan.
I agree with this. Although as i noted, you could see Miles reluctance to use Jefferson as confirmation of that impression. Personally, I think it was just a recruiting tactic or wishful thinking.
I think Miles' reluctance to use him had more to do with him historically not favoring younger guys. But that's a whole other discussion that has been hashed out a trillion times, and that I don't really care to get into.
He also mentioned graduating in 2.5-3 years. Seems to me that would be tough, but clearly he is a man with a plan.
