Sick, sick sick. The only question that remains is...can he take a hit? From this video, I can't tell...because I didn't hardly see anyone lay a finger on him. The fun thing about watching all those cutbacks is the de-cleater blocks that accompany them.
WOW. His running ability is incredible. I've posted my doubts about a freshman coming in and having a huge impact from the QB spot because it doesnt happen often but man, this kid is gifted. He may not play QB but he needs to be on the field somewhere. I hope I hear a bunch of "I told ya so" next year. It wont hurt my feelings one bit.
Found them here. Passing 115/211 for 1849 yards, 18 TD, 4 Ints (154 ypg) Rushing 257 carries for 1947 yards, 29 TDs (162 ypg) Keep in mind, his team also had Hasan Lipscomb... 140 carries for 1046 yards, 15 TDs (105 ypg) Anyway, Shep's passing numbers are pretty good - completion % isn't eye-watering. But his TD/Int numbers are especially attractive, for some reason...
Yeah, those passes looked really nice and on the money! He's like Charles Woodson on the old Madden running by defenders! :thumb:He will certainly see the field at some position this year, in fact I wouldn't be surprised to see some different formations just for him.:geaux:
Shep shows some pretty good mobility, but he tends to be too "pocket friendly." I would like to see him roll out of the pocket more often and avoid sacks.
This is only my opinion, but I think Jefferson will win the starting job for next year. But I would use Shepard as a QB in the (wildcat) set. You will already have a QB taking the snap. That way you will be able to throw the football down field when Shepard rolls out to put pressure on the DE and the OLB. The CB has to either play up for the run, if the CB does that Shepard throws the football to either a RB or a WR.
