With the trouble RP is in and his uncertain status, you just might be right, but we do have a pressing need at CB as well. Which is why I compared it almost equal to getting PJ
This is our shot at a Heisman winner...closes we've been i a long time. With Crowton calling the plays he's kept in the vault, Shep will excel mucho grande.
believe me, I have been trumpeting the recruitment of PJ probably more than anyone on this board (even went out on a limb and said he would be starting by SEC play his freshman season), but an impact QB would be a bigger pickup than an impact DB, anyday. PJ was huge huge huge, make no bones about it. The kid is extra special and a student of the game. He's going to be phenomenal, potentially the best ever CB in LSU history when all is said and done. And with the new DCs playing press coverage, that's right up PJ's alley, as he is very very physical.
I with you on the PJ situation, when I first got to this board, I jumped the gun I will admit and said PJ would be a Tiger, I was ridiculed, but I was right in the end:thumb:
This is definitely possible, don't think for one minute we're gonna settle on Jarrett Lee or Jordan Jefferson as our sole QB. We could easily employ a 2 QB system in the years to come.
Man clair, that was a quick 180 you did there. As far as his completion rate, that could have been a result of bad receivers or lack of O-line. Who knows...
His ability to make people miss is ridiculous... He probably threw a lot of deep balls too, that'll drop your completion %
Is there any doubt he will be one of the best coordinators LSU has ever had? One Year, one national championship. He will definitely use Shepard's abilities to the fullest.
Its infinite the ways Shepard may be used. With Crowton at the helm DCs will catch hell for the next few years. He would also be a great return man.
