While reading this, I was wondering how much this Hasan Lipscomb guy had to do with Shepard wanting to come to LSU.
Since he has committed to Minnesota, I imagine LSU being on tv every weekend, winning the NC, and meeting the coaches probably had a little bit to do with it. I don't know, just going out on a limb...
So your female friend introduced you to Shepard's girlfriend, and Shepard's girlfriend told you that Shepard is great friends with Lipscomb? Also, Russell Shepard just finished his junior year of high school, while you posted in Feb 2008 saying you met his girlfriend at LSU... that would make Shepard's gf at least two years older than him right? Anybody know how Shepard met his gf? I assume she is from Shepard's part of the Houston metro area, and Shepard met her there.
It's well documented that he dates a girl at LSU. And this was written months ago. Do you really have nothing better to do? Isn't it time to post some long winded diatribe about how RP was misunderstood and run off by all us haters? The comic/entertainment factor of some of your posts is diminishing at a prodigious rate.
Touchy, touchy. I love Shepard. You two have nothing to worry about, I'm not planning anything devious here. I truly think Shepard has a very good chance to be one of the most exciting players in all of college football history. That's why I find it fascinating to learn his story, to piece together his biography, if you will.
At the beginning of his recruitment, RS talked to many guys and recruited them for LSU. Lipscomb was his friend and wanted him to get a commitable offer as well. LSU had higher RBs on the board and LES was honest. RP and Lipscomb took that it stride. GF from same or close by HS and graduated before him. Went to LSU and now waiting for RS to graduate.
It has nothing to do with me being touchy John. It has everything to do with your track record. I commend you in your stated efforts, but have come to expect certain things from you. We all do.
I'm thinking of two friends I have right now that are bf/gf. Reality is that the guy is a much better catch that the girl, yet, the girl finds it fun to come across like she thinks she has the guy "whipped" (even though that's not reality). The whole thing is pretty cute. I do think that speaks well of Shepard's maturity that he is with an older girl. Especially at the high school/college age, I've always believed that girls are about three years more mature than guys their same age... for Shepard to have an older girlfriend speaks well of his maturity, to me.
