Question: what are the chances we redshirt this kid? I get the idea we might not, considering he is likely to enroll early, but considering 09 will be Perrilloux's senior year, if he redshirted he might be ready to take the helm as a RSF.

Alternately, an idea I see floated here that he will play the 06 Tebow role.

I don't see either as a bad option, but I have not seen the first idea in this post expressed. Just wondering what some of you thought.

Personally, I cant see redshirting Shepard. He brings much more to the table than your avg QB. He can be used in a multitude of ways/positions. He is a weapon to score on any play and would also be a great decoy. I think he will be used like RP was used this year. Plus we can use him at other positions. So I dont see him being redshirted.

This is an interesting problem for LSU to have. Since Perrilloux can do a T-bow impersonation as well as anyone, I don't see Shepard having to fill that role. I think we would use him as return man, and a receiver/running back, as in the way we use Holliday.

With him being able to participate in Spring drills, it will be hard to keep him off the team as a true freshman.

It will be interesting that whether Holliday is a Tiger in 09 may determine whether we see Shepard as a true freshman.

Yeah, that is kind of what I was thinking. Why would we sub out RP to play the role RP played for us last year?

But also one of those "good problems"!

There's so many ways to use Shep, just like a percy harvin type.

I could dream up sets with Perrilloux and Shepard in the same backfield. Line them up next to each other in the shotgun like a QB/RB combo..only you can snap to either one of them and its a huge play waiting to happen.

If you're the defense..what do you do?
