I have seen more than enough video from rivals on Shepard's passing ability to know that this kid has quite an arm. He can throw the long out patterns as well as the ability to throw deep.

He's probably better with his technique at this point than Jordan Jefferson is.

I know Jefferson is unafraid of competition and all that, but he is human and must be at least a little apprehensive about his status with Shepard onboard. If there was 2 years between them it would be different, but as many suggest Shepard should see the field early if only for running situations. At the very least I see Shepard alternating with Jefferson down the line like Tebow did with Leak, if Shepard winds up at QB. This is good for LSU, but may cut into Jefferson's playing time.

The story wasnt on the front page of rivals.com or the football recruiting page when he first commited and even Islstl saw that. It wasnt put on untill later however it was on LSU's rivals page but that wasnt what I was commenting on.

ive yuet to find a school espn likes other than usc...even they will admit it, and i doubt they like it.

lsu is treated pretty fairly from major media outlets, and corso or whomever does not hate you and your wife. get over it.

    From a recruiting site writeup:

Leadership: Shepard is very firm with his “team-first” attitude. To me, this is what makes him one of the top players in the country. He shows a lot of character and humility on and off the field. He also constantly brags on his teammates by saying they are a big reason for his success as a player. He is definitely a guy you want at the end of a huddle.

Total oppposite of Ryan Perrilloux. Thank goodness.

I just got back from a hiking trip to New Mexico and found Shepard commited. What great news. This is the best start LSU got in recruiting that I can recall.

you know better than to post junk like this man, come on...

watch any LSU game from this past season. Watch the Auburn hail-mary. Who was the 1st on the field to pat Flynn's helmet.

Watch the fake field goal. Who was the 1st to greet Flynn after the flip?

Clair's concerns are valid. Shepard did not do well as a QB in his sophamore year either. I suspect his five star rating is based on his skills as a WR and RB, and unless he has a dramatic improvement as a QB this year, look to him being recruited as a WR or RB.

It is a concern for me as well, but he deserves a shot and easily deserves a scholarship. Can can be a game changer at QB and if that doesn't work out he can play other positions. Lots of HS QB's have moved and had great careers. Then again lots of HS QB's that people didn't believe in had great QB careers too.

I think ppl are making guesses as to his throwing ability without ever seeing Shep play a complete game. All the so called concerns, are not really valid...if Les didn't think he fit into Gary Crowton's offense, he would have told him no chance at QB. Fact is the offense Shep ran his Soph & Jr year, was option 1st, with very few throws. He will be used, much like Tebow was used his 1st year at UF. I promise you, he will be lined up at QB...
