When he crossed the goaline he had this bodly expression like finally I made it. It was boasting or excessive celebration, he looked like what a relief. That was the best part of the run.
It's nice to see a great athlete be so humble. I know he'll do fine in any position.....How about RB for awhile?opcorn:opcorn:
it was the best part. they showed it on the scoreboard and that kids smile was ear to ear. even before they showed it you could see it in his body language. yep, you're right. that was great!
What I find to be the best part of RS is not his athletic ability, it's his outlook and leadership. Always saying the right things and not getting down on himself, team, or coaches. That is an infectious spirit that can hold a team together through the toughest times.....AND THAT SPIRIT IS WHAT SEPERATES CHAMPIONS FROM EVERYONE ELSE. The fact that he views BL and JJ as part of his team and not just someone he has to beat out of a position so he can get playing time says alot about his character. This guy seems to be very unselfish and he really wants those around him to succeed. Hope he is here for the duration.:thumb:
Yeah, he has the leadership qualities of a QB, but unfortunately the body habitus of a slot back or receiver. To me, that is the surprising issue with RS now that he is on the field next to other huge young men, you can see how slight his build is, and I think that is really what has kept him off the field so far. When he has taken good hits, he has coughed up the ball, and that too has kept him off the field. His attitude and character, however, are truly incredible and refreshing for a freshman top athlete.
I couldn't agree more. I have commented numerous times that this offense has been absent a leader which has also affected their ability to identify themselves. I felt like this was going to be a tough expectation for a 19 year old QB who has 9 starts under his belt. I really felt like one of the seniors on that offense would have to step up, take the leadership role and relieve some of the pressure on JJ. Allow JJ to grow and develop. RS seems to be stepping into that role. He has been a loyal member of the Tigers and an enthusiastic salesman of this team since he committed. This guy believes in this program in his soul and it shows. People rally around that type of charisma. We need to see guys continue to step up like that. Whatever happened during the break was just the medicine these guys needed. They look different, they're starting to feel it and they are starting to believe. That could be trouble for the rest of the teams in our way. We'll see if the growth continues and we'll see if our leaders step up this week. It's going to tough to keep this young team focused. This is a very important game for the Tigers in terms of what is at stake and what is at risk. Strong leadership on the field and the sidelines will be needed to help this team take the next step towards the title of Champion. :geaux:
A lot of people seem to think that RS will never play QB at LSU... First of all, his size isn't an issue... THere are plenty of short QBs out there. As for his playing different positions, what better way for a QB to get a clear understanding of his offense than to see it from the eyes of the people around him... Know where the receiver is... Know where the RB is going to pick up a block...
