http://www.usatoday.com/sports/football/nfl/raiders/2007-09-05-russell-update_N.htm?csp=34 Man that Ray Ray is right. Didn't most of us say the same thing? "We told them before the draft, 'If you guys have a problem with the skill-and-injury clause, then don't draft him,' " Ray Russell said.
when Culpepper gets hurt quick, or starts throwing INT's, they'll sign him quick...but obviously wat too late.
Looks to me like Oakland has looked around at the trouble these players have been getting into since they drafted JR and decided they want the ability to get the guaranteed money back if JR does something stupid. Its good business. If Oakland gets what it wants with JR then you can bet the next season and beyond all contracts will carry the same stips. My company gave me a nice signing bonus to work here. It has a payback clause that is prorated over 5 years. If I did something stupid and got the old hook today, I would owe roughly half since I've been here now 2 1/2 years. Lastly, Oakland can offer what they want and JR can counter at what he wants but ultimately its Oaklands decision if they think he is worth it. By the way, I dont think he's worth it and I cheered for him for 2 years. But hey, he's a tiger so I wish him the best.
What's JR doing for money these days? I wonder if uncle Ray Ray is footing the bills? But seriously, did he get an advance check from an agent?
My mother always told me I should pay attention more..... The sad thing is that I read this thread a few days ago, including cgisclair's post, and still was retarded enough to ask a dumb question. My apologies, please carry on.
Looks like this could be over soon. :geauxtige http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/7194522?FSO2&ATT=MA
Just heard on Fox's OT program that the Raiders are going "back to the drawing board" with JR tommorrow and "think they can get a deal signed by Wednesday."
Funny how things can happen upon having the stark realization that Josh McCown is actually in the running for the starting job.
