see islstl's post about pocket awareness for a clue.

Credibility? I might worry about credibility at the bank or something like that but on an internet based forum? So you would worry if your credibility was low on a forum? Re prioritize some stuff.... ok?

Yahoo is reporting that JR made 100,000 bones per completion and 5.6 mil per win. Maybe he isn't a dumbass after all.

Based on a couple of articles, some of the sports world disagrees. I do too. I think that given the low financial risk that it would be for an organization someone will give him a shot. As has been said in some of these articles, although most of the blame falls on the shoulders of JR, the fact that Oakland is a shambles there will be some team out there that thinks that JR's talent is just too great to not try and see if he is in a different system that he could be successful. At a league min of $630k the main financial risk has already been taken by Oakland, and anyone who signs him now doesn't really have that much to lose.

But he has an NFL contract that owes him millions. Any team that picks him up will have to pay Oakland an awful lot of money to get him and he'll come with that contract, too. I don't think that the NFL players association permits a team to pay the minimum to a man under contract.

I think I read that it cost the Raiders 3 million to release him. Doubt that any guaranteed money remains on his contract.

Not any more. As of last week he is not due that anymore, he cleared waivers. Had someone chose to taken him on before that they would have owed him the balance of his contract. Now they can get him at the league min for a 3 yr player.

This correct accept it would be league min for a 4th year player.
JaMarcus Russell is no longer a member of the Oakland Raiders, but somebody in the NFL will give him a second chance - ESPN

Not that i want Aaron Rodgers to get hurt, but for all the Matt Flynn lovers including myself, how cool would it be to see Jamarcus end up in Green Bay backing up Matt Flynn if Aaron Rodgers went down with an injury.
