jr is not a bad quarterback. he did some good things while at lsu and was a good qb while here.

however, jr is a lazy and unmotivated person, imo. and it is biting him in the ass in the nfl.

Jamarcus was a really good college QB. His failing at Oakland doesn't change that. You can get away with things in college that will not work at the NFL level.

I think Flynn had some skills that JR lacked (and vice versa) and it would have been very interesting to see MF as the starting QB for several years, especially considering how well he's done in landing as the backup at Green Bay and beating out Brian Brohm for the number 2 spot. But that's just idle speculation that none of us know the answer to.

What's next? Pull up a thread praising Chad Lavalais and then say the posters were wrong because he didn't do a whole lot in the NFL? Being good, or even great, in college doesn't mean it will translate to the NFL.

Come on man, don't go reasonable on us. It means that Lavalais is a worthless human and waste of flesh, He should never be allowed back on campus for the audacity of squandering his opportunity and ability in the pros. And of course it means that he actually sucked while he was here too. Forget his stats at LSU, this just proves it! :thumb:

IF, if's and but's were candy and nuts....

    Christmas would be year round.

It is what it is. Speculation as to who was the better QB at the time, Flynn or JR, is irrelevant. I felt that given another year (06), Flynn would have evolved to be the better QB. Unfortunately I missed all the practice sessions so therefore, it is what it is.

LSU was the best case scenario for JR, discipline or lose your ride. He maintained his discipline and his ride. He was rewarded for his efforts. Thanks-

Pros; individual development derived from what have I got to lose. Dumb/ lazy+Raiders= No thanks- His days with LSU had nothing to do with that.

Guess the Browns are smiling pretty damn good right about now.

Big Chad didn't go number 1 overall though. He went 5th round 142 or so.

What's your point? Lavalais got drafted and failed to make it. Miserably.

So since Russell didn't deserve to be #1 anyway, why should he be blamed for flunking out of the NFL? I mean, if he had been drafted in rd 3-5, would the same people be ranking on him?

    Yup.

Russell had no leadership abilitys, stats dont always potray that. it's the un documented stat, it is work ethic. Players are ultimately judged on what they brought to the team.

No one outside this forum would argue this, they'd be laughed to death.

JR had some great comeback games, games we should have never had to come back from.

and to the poster who said I was "happy with the QB situation now" What exactly does that have to do with JR? Nothing. It is a different subject.

but if you want to go there, No I am not happy with it. I think it could improve. Does this have ANYTHING to do with back then?

and I assure you whoever said something about "pantys in a wad" LOL I could honestly care less. I wish Mr JR well. I hope he changes his attitude and work ethic and becomes a great NFL QB, stranger things have probably happened.
I was just saying what a neat thing it is to look back at all the posters who were WAY OFF. AND THIS only because they drill ANYONE who has an opinion different from their own. EVEN faced with the obvious.... like now.

Regardless of what dude says or anyone they were way off... drag up all the stats you can...Im fact I think it's kinda intresting you'd go to all that trouble to defend something that stupid. Ray Charles could see the boy lacked work ethic, attitude and leadership. You might want to look a little deeper than wikipedia.. jus sayin.

He may have been as good as we had at the time, but he wasnt good. He was just VERY athletic and in college that can help you rise above, in pros the field levels out more. I'd ten times rather a person like Hester with great heart and work athic, although not as athletic.

He may not have hurt us dressing out but it's my Opinion ( just mine ) that we should have started Flynn. Now thats just me and is open to all your criticism. Backing JR up with stats is questionable at best. This is the same Crowd that said Jason Campbell, JR's replacement would never make it in the NFL.

there's just no objectivity here. none.
    JR was dandy at LSU,
but now that he is gone he has fallen.
Here's a little clue for you. He had the same attitude and work ethic at both camps.
    welcome to reality.

thank you! Indeed, I actually expected more from Chad than I did JR. I "thought" he had better skills/work ethic... whatever.

I dont mind admitting I was wrong about Chad, good luck to him though.

It was different with JR though, we had posters here saying he deserved a Hiesman and was the best thing since sliced bread, the boy fooled alot of folks. I had high hopes for him but all along I could see a tendency in him to resort to "sand lot" football.
    No prep time.
